Shrimp Skewers

Grilled shrimp skewers with Lime cream

Serve with brown rice or black “forbidden” rice.

Soak wooden skewers in warm water one hour before threading meat to avoid burning skewers.

Makes 2 servings


  • 1 pound unpeeled large fresh shrimp
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice (about 2 large limes)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper


Peel shrimp, leaving tails on, if desired. Place in a shallow dish.

Stir together lime juice and next 4 ingredients. Pour over shrimp; tossing to coat thoroughly. Thread shrimp onto wooden skewers.

Grill shrimp over medium-high heat for 1 minute on each side or just until shrimp turn pink. Serve with Lime Cream.

Lime Cream Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon grated lime rind
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper

Stir together all ingredients.  Serve with Grilled shrimp
